Petco Love was founded in 1999, formalizing Petco's longstanding commitment to animal welfare. Over the years, we've served as a leader and valued partner in animal welfare, always focusing on one thing: Creating a better world for animals and the people who love and need them. In April 2021, we took the next step in our lifesaving mission and adopted a new name, Petco Love. We will continue to lead the way every day to harness the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier--and create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized.

Petco Love (formerly Petco Foundation) invests in organizations that have the most impact. Through a decision model designed to evaluate and assess organizations alongside their peers, we empower those that are most productive and effective, and work with a relentless determination to succeed.

Since 1999, we’ve invested millions in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research and numerous other lifesaving initiatives—always investing wisely in organizations with the most lifesaving impact. In partnership with animal welfare organizations and 1,500 Petco stores across the country, we help bring pets together with loving families every day.

PetCo Love Lost

Nearly 10 million pets go missing each year – we help them return home.

Established in 1999, Petco Love formalizes Petco’s longstanding commitment to animal welfare. We simplify the search for lost and found pets by offering a free central location to report, search, and share.

Our database includes pets reported by individuals, as well as thousands of shelters partners across the country. By uploading a photo of your lost or found pet and reporting it in our system, you make that pet visible to pet parents searching for their pet – making happy pet reunions just a few clicks away.
